Why Moms Need A Chiropractor and Massage Therapy

Moms Need Love

I know it’s not mother’s day yet, but if you need a holiday to tell your mother you care, then maybe you could afford to care a little more.  Moms have it tough.  There are no days off, and it seems like no one ever thanks you.  Now, it’s probably a bit gauche to say sending your mother to the chiropractor is a great way to show love, so make sure you think of something real nice to do after you finish reading this. Nevertheless, a visit to the chiropractor and a massage might still be really beneficial to moms this season.  Since that’s what we do here at Integrity Chiropractic, let’s talk about how!

1.  Moms Have A Lot of Stress

Yeah, I know, everybody has stress, but just imagine what that stress is like for someone who has to worry about a whole family.  Yeah, it’s a lot. Stress causes some pretty serious wear and tear on your body.  You tense up, putting pressure on your joints and muscles.  The worry weakens your immune system, leaving you more vulnerable to diseases. Then, all the extra work, like driving your kids to school, or to sports games, and other activities also leave you in poor shape. Driving especially – a lot of driving is really hard on your spine, even if you’re sitting right in your chair.

No one can handle being under stress all the time.  You need relief.  A good massage can really help with that.  Integrity Chiropractic has trained massage therapists ready to help you out in that regard.  Even just a short session can do wonders to ease your tension and help you feel more calm and collected.  Relief from stress now and then can do wonders for boosting your health.

2.  Pains Get Worse In The Cold

The high stress life-style of motherhood is probably going to cause you to develop little aches and pains.  Back and joint pain are extremely common.  A common thing people report is that back and joint pains get worse when it gets cold.  Studies are still trying to pinpoint the exact cause and some scientists are skeptical of claims, but the current theory is that the drop in temperature goes hand in hand with a drop in barometric pressure.  As the pressure drops, the tissues in your joins can swell more easily.  This can cause any existing back and joint pains to get worse.

Regardless of the actual cause, increased joint and back pain can make you feel terrible.  The constant aches wears on you, worsening your stress and making you less happy about your daily activity.  Chiropractic treatment can help with back and joint pain.  By keeping the spine in proper condition and alignment, it makes sure that no area of your spine is putting more pressure on your joints than the rest.  This can help minimize the pain.  Coupled with a relaxing massage, it can help you get through the cold months better.

3.  Improved Emotional Health For You and The Family

Your emotional health and your physical health are tied together.  It’s hard to be ready to face life if you’re feeling terrible.  When the aches and pains get to you, you just feel tired and unhappy.  When your mood slips, everybody can feel it.  When someone’s not happy, they can drag everybody’s mood down.  When mom is the one who’s not happy, then nobody’s going to be happy, since mom’s do so much work for everyone.

Chiropractic and massage therapy can help you improve your mood.  By relieving you of stress and easing back and joint pain, you’ll feel more energized. You can deal with life better and that makes it better for everyone around you.  No one can be at their best all the time, but we can help you feel better more often.  You’ll feel better, and so will everyone else.
